 Trail Creek Terrace

Trail Creek Terrace is an imagined design for the City of Athens and the Carr’s Hill neighborhood, transforming an underused portion of an existing park with an emphasis on formal design. Taking cues from the neighboring streets, this design employs strict geometry to create defined spaces, offering visitors a wide variety of options for use. The new park offers a plethora of spaces for children and adults to enjoy, including a turf field for various uses, a landform play area drawing on the area’s mill history, and a stunning modern pavilion. The design solidifies a connection with Trail Creek, featuring an overlook deck jutting out towards the Firefly Trail Bridge and open views across the creek towards the rest of Dudley Park.

Piedmont Preserve

Working with a local landowner, this design creates a multi-use recreational space, while maximizing restoration efforts throughout the site. After a thorough site analysis, three concepts emerged, each focusing on one of three guiding principles: conservation, education, and recreation. The final site plan merged the three concept maps, resulting in a ecologically and programatically functional space.
